Fitting Accessories
Proper wheel fitting requires more than just the wheels themselves. At Carbonized Alloys, we include free fitting kits with our wheels, but understanding these accessories is important for achieving optimal installation and performance.
Wheel Nuts & Bolts
• Nuts are used with vehicles that have studs coming out of the hub.
• Bolts are used with vehicles that don't have studs, passing through the wheel to fasten directly to the hub.
Key Features
Thread pattern must match your vehicle's hub exactly.
Seat type (conical, radius, flat) must be compatible with your wheel's seat design.
Length is crucial for proper thread engagement and safety.
Note: When you purchase wheels from Carbonized Alloys, we include the correct nuts or bolts for your specific vehicle.
Locking Nuts & Bolts
Locking nuts/bolts are an essential security feature to protect your investment in premium alloy wheels from theft.
How They Work
Each wheel typically has one locking nut/bolt and several standard nuts/bolts.
The locking nut/bolt requires a special key (included with purchase) to remove.
Without the key, wheels cannot be removed with standard tools.
Important: Always keep your locking wheel key in a safe place, as replacements can be difficult to obtain.
Spigot Rings
Spigot rings are reducers that fill the gap between a wheel's center bore and a vehicle's hub, ensuring perfect alignment and eliminating vibration.
Key Information
Made of durable plastic or metal to withstand constant pressure and movement.
Necessary when a wheel's center bore is larger than the vehicle's hub diameter.
Prevents vibration and improves handling by properly centering the wheel.
At Carbonized Alloys, we include the correct spigot rings with your wheel purchase when required.
Wheel Spacers
Wheel spacers are discs that fit between the wheel and hub to adjust the offset, pushing the wheel outward for clearance or aesthetic purposes.
Uses & Benefits
Reduce wheel offset, creating a more flush or "poking" stance.
Provide additional clearance for brake calipers or suspension components.
Improve track width for enhanced stability and handling.
Allow fitment of wheels that might otherwise have clearance issues.
Caution: Always use high-quality spacers and ensure you have bolts/nuts of the correct length when using spacers.
Complete Wheel Packages
